The Kefalonia flotilla starts from the harbour of Aghia Eufimia (also Agia Effimia), an ideal spot from which to explore the southern of the Ionian islands including Zakynthos and Ithaca. Starting further south means you will be ahead of other flotillas, permitting a more adventurous route and exploring destinations not found on other flotilla itineraries.
The Zante route heads south to Zakynthos town and Aghios Nikolaos. The Kefalonia flotilla route takes you on a trip to the north and the west side of the island, exploring Vathi on Ithaca, Fiskardho, Assos to the west before the last day beach party in a beautiful bay.
With longer sailing distances, this route offers those clients who are loyal to the Ionian with another challenge whilst still be able to enjoy this beautiful area that we love and know so well.

The weather
The Ionian islands enjoy a wonderful climate, and you can be virtually assured of great weather and warm temperatures during the flotilla season. Winds on the Kefalonia flotilla are moderate, with strengths of force 2-4, occasionally a little more in open water. For those accustomed to the calm waters to the east of Lefkas and Kefalonia, the open waters can often have more of a swell, particularly further south. Read more about sailing the Ionian islands…
Getting there
There are direct flights to the island of Kefalonia from many European locations between May and September. Local transfers to the Ionian islands flotilla bases can be arranged on request.
Day 1
Fly to Kefalonia and transfer to Eufimia harbour for embarkation. Our home in Eufimia is a perfect point from which to explore the southern Ionian islands.
Day 2
This is the largest town on the island, and is situated at the head of the well-protected bay. Explore the back streets for some great tavernas and nightlife.
Day 3
Fiskardo, lively and sophisticated but retaining some traditional Greek charm and character, a great place for people watching.
Day 4
We sail around the north coast of the island, heading for the village of Assos, with the famous fort occupying the penninsula. (Note this part of the route is weather dependant)
Day 5
Beach party today and we head south to the west coast of Ithaca, and Poli Bay – perfect for a flotilla raft and a party on the beach.
Day 6
Plenty of choice – head south to Zakynthos, or alternatively head east to Ithaca, your lead crew will be happy to make some recommendations.
Day 7
Return to our base and enjoy a “last supper” together on the waters edge at one of the best tavernas in the Ionian.

Day 4
From Aghios Nikolaos, a high speed boat trip is possible to “Shipwreck bay”, regarded as one of the best beaches in the world. Note: If weather conditions are not favourable, we substitute this stop for a beach BBQ and party in a secluded bay.
