The Lefkas flotilla holiday sails from Nikiana harbour, on the east of the island and visits Meganisi, Kefalonia and Ithaka as well as some of the smaller and more traditional Ionian islands and mainland destinations. Each island, harbour and town has its own character, from cosmopolitan Fiskardo, traditional Lefkas to sleepy Kastos and the pine-clad bays of Meganisi, you are spoilt for choice and there is something for everyone on an Ionian islands flotilla holiday.
The Ionian islands remain ever popular and with good reason. Gentle breezes, secure anchorages and iridescent waters make this the ideal flotilla holiday destination. The protected waters are ideal for less experienced sailors as well as those more experienced sailors looking to relax and unwind.
For the best of both worlds, why not try a combination of a week of dinghy, windsurfing, kayaking & SUPing at our beach club in Nikiana before or after a week exploring the Ionian islands on the Lefkas flotilla. The perfect Greek island holiday!
We also offer two amazing 2 week explorer flotillas running in April and October with yachts available for virtually half price. The North Ionian Explorer heads north towards Paxos, Corfu and the coast of Epirus, taking in many delights on its 2 week journey.

Lefkas flotilla yachts
All yachts are fully equipped with standard inventory including dinghy and outboard engine, electric anchor windlass, bimini top and sprayhood, autopilot and GPS or chart plotter and full safety equipment.
The Weather
The summer sailing season in Greece enjoys fantastic weather, with clear skies and warm temperatures from April through to October. April and May average around 20 to 25 centigrade, rising to the mid thirties in late July and August, before reducing gradually during September and October. Sailing conditions are generally moderate with wind strengths between force 2-5. The water temperature is perfect for swimming, averaging 20 degrees in May, rising to 23 or 24 degrees in the protected bays by late August, and only reducing back to around 20 degrees in late September / early October.
Getting There
Our base in Nikiana is approximately 40 minutes from Preveza airport by taxi. Local transfers can be arranged on request.
Day 1
Fly UK to Preveza and transfer to our flotilla base for embarkation. Our home port is in the sheltered harbour of Sivota on the south of the island of Lefkas, perfect for exploring the South Ionian.
Day 2
The area is renowned as a top windsurfing destination but is now popular with yachties too – and the brand new marina for 2019 is a great destination.
Day 3
Chic and cosmopolitan, FIskardho is known for being a “must see” destination in the Mediterranean. Some of the best restaurants in the Ionian offer the chance to dine in style.
Day 4
This place is a well known and popular spot on the easter coast of Ithaca, and is home to arguably the best restaurant in the Ionian, as well as a fantastic bar for some evening down time from sailing.
Day 5
Meganissi village is set on the hill overlooking the bay, and the view (and a cold beer!) are the rewards for a short climb.
Day 6
Plenty of choices for your free sailing – Meganisi alone offers 4 or 5 possible destinations, town quay, restaurant quay, long lining in a bay or swinging on the anchor – your crew will suggest the perfect stop for you.
Day 7
Return to Lefkas island and enjoy a “last supper” together on the water`s edge opposite the pontoon. Two week clients continue free sailing – your crew will be happy to guide you to some of the hidden gems for your weekend.
Day 8
Disembarkation in the morning
Day 1
Fly UK to Preveza and transfer to our flotilla base for embarkation. Our home port is in the sheltered harbour of Sivota on the south of the island of Lefkas, perfect for exploring the South Ionian.
Day 2
A short hop on our first day is perfect – plenty of time to get used to your yacht and enjoy a swim stop for lunch before the evening punch party on the quay.
Day 3
This small mainland village is popular with Greek tourists and offers a great selection of tavernas for your evening meal. Anchor outside the harbour or on the quay, the choice is yours.
Day 4
Today we head south to the mountainous island of Kalamos. You can be sure of some great sailing breezes in the afternoon before heading into the well-protected harbour and dinner at George`s famous taverna.
Day 5
A short hop to the location of our beach party on Kalamos means plenty of time to explore or relax – head south to the Dragonera islands, great for spotting dolphins, or take it easy, sailing around Kastos with a lazy stop for lunch.
Day 6
Plenty of choice for you – head to Meganisi for a night in one of the bays on the north coast, or alternatively head south west to Ithaka or Kefalonia.
Day 7
Return to Lefkas island and enjoy a “last supper” together on the waters edge. Two week clients continue free sailing – your crew will be happy to guide you to some of the hidden gems for your weekend.
Day 8
Disembarkation in the morning
Bavaria 33 – 2006 – 2007 – 2 Cabins / 1 head
This 2 cabin yacht is ideal for couples and smaller families, easy and safe to sail with all controls from the cockpit. She has a spacious stern cabin and can sleep 6, although we would recommend 4 as a ideal crew.

This 3 cabin yacht is ideal for 2 couples and smaller families, easy and safe to sail with all controls from the cockpit. She can sleep 7 (in the three cabins plus saloon) but is ideal for 4 to 6 crew.

Skippered Flotilla – for those new to sailing
If you like the concept of a flotilla holiday for your family or group of friends but lack the qualifications or experience to skipper the yacht yourselves, then a skippered flotilla holiday, where we provide a professional skipper to take charge of the sailing and navigation, may be the perfect solution. Unlike a standard charter, you can also enjoy the social side of sailing as part of a flotilla, meeting others in the evenings or during the day, organized activities for the kids as well as all the usual benefits of yachting, like exploring, swimming in secluded bays during the day, and the simple joy of travelling under sail. It all adds up to a magical family holiday.
Dinghy sailing holiday Ionian Beach Club
Located in the village of Nikiana on the island of Lefkas (Lefkada), this small and perfectly formed beach front complex has 32 rooms, a fresh water swimming pool and a very good family run taverna in a quiet location with stunning scenery. The beach is sand and shingle and it’s a simple, traditional style property where many of the rooms have either full or partial sea view. Accommodation is generally on a bed & breakfast basis although we are now offering a Club Board Package. Unlimited Sailing, Windsurfing and other watersports is included at our excellent beach setup with lovely conditions and experienced instructors.
The Nikiana Beach Club is an ideal family holiday village in a superb beach side setting with excellent dinghy sailing and windsurfing equipment at your disposal during your stay. There are great facilities for all the family, whilst use of all the sailing equipment including our wide variety of dighies, as well as the tennis courts and swimming pool plus half board meal arrangements are included in the price of your holiday.
Nikiana Beach Club has proved popular, especially with our regular clients, thanks to the friendly atmosphere and its idyllic position in a beautiful beach front setting.Nikiana Beach Club is an RYA Training Centre and we offer a huge range of courses for Dinghies, Multihulls, Windsurf & Powerboating. A week at the Beach Club is also the perfect addition to a flotilla holiday for your first or second week on our South Ionian or even Saronic Isles flotillas.
