RYA Sailing Courses Kavala: Learn to sail in the idyllic conditions of the North Aegean.
The RYA no longer distinguish between tidal and non-tidal sailing areas, so a certificate gained in Greece has the same value as one attained in the UK.

We offer a range of courses from Competent Crew for beginners, Day Skipper for those who want to charter their own holiday boats, Coastal Skipper for those who want to spend more time at sea and Yachtmaster courses for those who wish to become professional skippers or trainers.
Sailing courses and prices
RYA Competent Crew course
This 5 days course introduces the beginner to cruising and teaches personal safety, seamanship and basic helmanship to the level required to be a useful member of the crew on a yacht. There is no minimum age limitation but minors under 16 should be accompanied by an adult.

RYA Day Skipper course
During that 5 days course you will be taught pilotage, navigation boat handling and seamanship up to the standards required to skipper a cruising yacht mainly by day in non tidal waters. The RYA Day Skipper course will show you the difference between being crew and being the person in charge. The course introduces the problems and responsibilities of being in charge of a yacht and how to cope with common difficulties. It is the course that most candidates ask for and can be combined with a competent crew level course at the same time. Minimum age to award a certificate is 16.

RYA Coastal Skipper practical
The aim of this course is to teach the advanced skippering techniques for yachtsmen and women with considerable knowledge of sailing and navigation, wanting to undertake longer coastal passages by day and night. Like the Day Skipper course, this course consists of skippered passages in a variety of situations but concentrates on night cruising and handling heavy weather.
Course Content: Passage planning for longer passages, Preparation for sea, Pilotage, Passage making and ability as skipper, advanced yacht handling under power, advanced yacht handling under sail, tide, adverse weather conditions, night sailing and watchkeeping, emergency situations.
Ability after the course: Able to skipper a yacht on longer coastal passages by day and night.

RYA/MCA Yachtmaster Coastal – Exam Preparation
The aim of this demanding course is to teach the skills and techniques required to skipper a cruising yacht safely on coastal and offshore passages by day and night. Previous experience of 30 days at sea, 2 of them as a skipper covering 800 miles and at least 12 hours at night are required in order to be accepted in that course. Also a First Aid Certificate, a Short Range Operator’s Certificate and a minimum age of 17 are required to be awarded with that qualification. An independent examiner different from your instructor will test your skills after the course Syllabus. During this course our already experienced candidates will be trained on advanced passage planning by day and night in more demanding areas and weather conditions. They have to learn how to cope with emergencies and conduct the correct crew management. The boat handling under sails or power has to be to very high standards in order to be ready to deal with any circumstances.
RYA/MCA Yachtmaster Offshore Exam Preparation
The Yachtmaster Offshore Certificate is internationally recognised throughout the yachting industry. This is a minimum legal requirement for seeking work in the industry. If you want to work in the charter business as a competent and reliable skipper, do long deliveries, or are seeking crew work on mega yachts, then this is the way to improve your skills.
A Yachtmaster Offshore Certificate is gained by examination, conducted by RYA Yachtmaster Examiners who are completed independent from our Training Centre. There is no syllabus prescribed for the Yachtmaster Offshore Certificate. The preparation course is for the very experienced sailors who already hold a SRC radio operator and a First Aid Certificate. Also 2500 miles of seamanship are required half of them in tidal waters on 50 days being at least 5 days as skipper day and night. These requirements are set in order to help you ensure that you can enjoy your preparation for the exams. The exams have a minimum duration of 8-10 hours per candidate and are really a challenge for your skills and seamanship.
Racing Sailing Courses
Join one of our racing courses to become a member of a racing team. Participate in several regattas all over Greece. Courses are run throughout the year, even in winter time. You can choose either a regular course or an intensive one, under agreement at certain dates before a regatta. Our instructors are experts with many awards among the best sailors in Greece. The boats we are use for that purpose are equipped with top sails and gear.SRC (radio/VHF) courses are also offered.
